The CDMO built for today’s challenges. And tomorrow’s opportunities.
Take a Facility Tour →At Boreal Biomanufacturing, our facilities are fit-for-purpose to give cancer and rare disease innovators a competitive edge in manufacturing biotherapeutics for use in clinical trials. Every capability — current and planned — meets good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards to ensure the highest quality and help streamline regulatory approvals.
Boreal is one of the only academic facilities in Canada currently producing GMP-grade therapeutic virus and cell products for use in Phase 1–3 clinical trials. Through our six GMP production suites, we have the capacity to manufacture thousands of doses of therapeutic virus products for cancer therapy campaigns and hundreds of thousands of doses of virus-based vaccines. And our facilities are qualified to complete small-scale, aseptic fill finish of biologic products through manual fill, with a maximum of 500, 2 mL glass vials.
All of which explains why Boreal has been the go-to manufacturing partner for so many investigational products for clinical trials in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Our partnerships over the past two decades have included manufacturing for:
We’re doubling down on our commitment to realizing the promise of viral vector and cell therapy manufacturing. Quite literally.
In 2029, Boreal will move to a new location near our current headquarters at The Ottawa Hospital’s General Campus. The new space will allow us to double our current manufacturing capacity, all while keeping our team close to the hospital and university communities that offer our clients such a distinct advantage.
In addition to integrating and expanding production of therapies based on cells and viruses, this highly flexible and adaptable space will enable production of nanotherapeutics.
Biotherapeutics have revolutionized healthcare — and as the field continues to rapidly evolve, this new facility is a physical manifestation of our commitment to ensuring that our clients and partners have all the resources at their disposal to journey across the translational divide.
You’ve got a game-changing idea to treat cancer or rare disease. We’re ready to bring it to life. Let’s get started.
